Vikingarna wins the Dance Band Release of the Year Award

The biggest danseband in the Nordic countries "Vikingarna" has just been awarded the prize for Dance Band Release of the Year with the band's brand new album: "The Final Tour In Concert". A double album which includes a live concert from the legendary "Cirkus" in Stockholm and is out now all over the Nordic countries.

The presentation took place at the "Manifest Galan" which is the annual awards ceremony - 22 in total - for the entire Swedish music industry. This year, Manifest Galan celebrated its 20th anniversary, and the event was held in Gothenburg at the Pustervik venue.

The motivation of the jury was as follows:
"For 50 years - and counting - the band has been loved to pieces. The singer's deep voice is the industry's razor-sharpest ID.
Now they're releasing their final tour on record, with a well-curated and beautifully performed selection of a song treasure that is itself a Swedish cultural heritage."

"I'm incredibly happy and proud that after 50 years, we can still make our mark on the Nordic music market and that we can still win awards is fantastic. I would like to say a big thank you to the jury and Manifest Galan for this award, which means a lot to us in Vikingarna. We ourselves are very happy about our new CD release, as it reflects a piece of cultural heritage of Vikingarna's long career and the many hits there have been throughout the years." says the band's lead singer Christer Sjögren.

Vikingarna did not have the opportunity to receive the prestigious award themselves, so instead the band's record company representative from Music Manager, Henrik Sørensen was in Gothenburg to receive the award.
